Richard L. Crosby III has spent his career at the intersection of law, community, and consequence.
He built a reputation as one of Ohio’s top criminal defense attorneys — earning recognition among the state’s Top 100 and making partner at a prominent firm before running for Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District in 2016. He understood the legal system intimately, having argued for the rights and freedom of others across hundreds of cases.
Then the system turned toward him.A federal indictment, the loss of his law license, and a period of incarceration reshaped everything Richard thought he knew about justice, second chances, and what it means to rebuild. He emerged not diminished — but redirected.
Today, Richard is focused on building. The Comma Foundation — his nonprofit advancing affordable housing development, eviction prevention, and reentry services — anchors his mission work. RC3 Group houses his business ventures including Xsquire Logistics, Triple Maintenance Group, Xsquire Brewing, and The Disbarred Xsquire podcast. Across all of it, the goal is the same: use what you’ve learned to build something that matters and create positive change in his community.
